Ed,
Irregardless of whether the opposing sides are being honest or not, all Americans have the right to free speech. Obama is telling the opposition to shut up and get out of the way. That's not the behavior one would expect from someone who is the president. He is sworn to uphold the constitution which guaranties the right to free speech. If his health care plan is so wonderful, then it should pass the test of time and scrutiny by THE PEOPLE. It is our country just as much as it is his country. What is the rush to force this legislation through congress? I am neither a democrat nor a republican. I was a registered democrat for most of my life and decided I didn't want to be associated with either party, so I am not a wingnut, right wing extremist or in any way shape or form beholding to anybody's beliefs but my own. If this plan is so wonderful and is going to fix all our health care woes, what is the problem with all of us having a little more time to become educated and informed with this plan? Also, why aren't the politicians answering the questions about health care. My representative and senators have answered mine by email. Only one of them is a democrat and she is not for the Obama plan either. The legislative process is designed for discussion, dissent and compromise. I see little being done on the part of the Obama administration and the people pushing this bill to attempt any sort of a compromise at this point. In the end, it is the will of the people that should prevail, not politicians that think they know what's best for the people.
